Our cardiology consultations are tailored to each patient’s needs and our experience helps to ensure that funds are spent wisely and that no unnecessary tests are completed.
Cardiology consultations are about 30 minutes long, where we will sit with you to discuss your concerns and perform a complete cardiac examination of your pet. The time needed to perform exams varies depending on the condition.
The main exam needed is an echocardiogram, a non-invasive test (like an ultrasound exam for pregnancy) that allows a detailed evaluation of the heart's function. Sometimes other exams may be recommended, such as a blood pressure check, electrocardiogram (reading of the heart rhythm) or blood tests.
If you would like to have your pet’s heart checked by us, please contact your vet to arrange an appointment with us. Unfortunately, we cannot book appointments directly with pet owners, but we would be honoured to be a part of your pet’s healthcare team. After your vet has requested an assessment with us, we will contact you directly to arrange an appointment at your most convenient date and clinic, depending on how urgently your pet needs to be seen.
